Several-day visit of the rector of Azerbaijan State Marine Academy of Baku - Prof. Rasim Bashirov to the Maritime University of Szczecin is the result of cooperation established by the two universities.
During Prof Bashirov’s stay in Szczecin, (4-6 March 2013) a more detailed range of joint activities was discussed.
Prof. Stanislaw Gucma, rector of the Maritime University signed an agreement with the academy in Baku, which is a document setting out a plan of cooperation for the period 2013-2015.
It concerns the scientific and student exchange as well as the staff training. Only in April this year MUS staff will carry out training for the Azeri academy trainers of STCW.
There will be developed common research programs. It is also assumed to support doctoral students from Baku in conducting their research in the fields of transportation, surveying and mapping, as well as engineering and machine construction.
Both universities will also work together in international research and teaching projects - Erasmus Mundus and Erasmus Tempus.
During his visit in Szczecin Prof. Bashirov visited Marine Traffic Engineering Centre, European LNG Training Centre, marine engine room, the Chair of Machine Diagnosis and Repairs and the Hall of Tradition.
