On 29.04.2010, AGH University of Science and Technology of Krakow and the Maritime University of Szczecin signed an agreement on leading common post-graduate studies.

The agreement concerning the Faculty of Marine Engineering (Maritime University of Szczecin) and the Faculty of Drilling, Oil and Gas (AGH University of Science and Technology of Krakow) deals with launching common post-graduate studies: “LNG Transport and Terminal Operation”. Student recruitment for the newly opened studies will commence from the summer semester of the academic year 2010/2011. The studies will be realized at the Faculty of Marine Engineering of the Maritime University of Szczecin and the Faculty of Drilling, Oil and Gas of AGH University of Science and Technology of Krakow (away-from-home sessions).

The signed agreement is the result of both universities’ cooperation within the project of building a liquefied natural gas terminal in Swinoujscie, realized by Polskie LNG S.A.

Due to the European LNG Training Center all elements of gas-port operation will be performed by highly qualified specialists, since it is going to be the only Polish educational institution instructing specialists with unique top world class qualifications.

The Center, co-financed by the EU, will be equipped with up-to-date simulators creating real-like gas-port and vessel working conditions. Apart from Polskie LNG S.A., its creators are the Maritime University of Szczecin and AGH University of Science and Technology.
