On the 50th anniversary of the School of Sea Dogs in Szczecin, at Waly Chrobrego, Alumni Association of the State Marine Fisheries School in Szczecin and Gdynia Maritime University organize anniversary celebrations in Szczecin.

The ceremony will be held at the Maritime University of Szczecin, 28-30 September 2012, in conjunction with the inauguration of the academic year 2012/2013 at the Maritime University of Szczecin. The event shall include:

28.09.2012, Friday Central Cemetery, at 18.00
  • laying flowers at the monument ‘To those who have not returned from the sea ...’ 29/09/2012 ul. Jana z Kolna (at the foot of Embankment), at11.00
  • participation of the seas veterans in the inauguration of the academic year 2012/2013 and a souvenir common photo Maritime University of Szczecin, Waly Chrobrego 1-2, room 19 (ground floor) after the inauguration, at approx. 12.00
  • meeting with colleagues and alumni and visiting university lecturers, at 20.00
  • graduation party at the club ‘Pod Masztami’

The term ‘śledziołapy’/herring catchers/ from the beginning stuck to the audience, and then the graduates of the State Marine Fisheries School. They talked about their schools ‘Rybalka’. The school existed in 1962-1967. Only half a decade, but the school managed to educate 1,300 people. (‘School of Sea Dogs Yesterday and Today’, Ch. Rybalka, that is the school of ‘śledziołapy’ K.
