In 2012 began the second stage to create OSRB in Kolobrzeg, the project carried out by Prof. Wojciech Ślączka , Master Mariner- Vice-Rector for Maritime Affairs. In 1st Phase the construction was completed, followed by the final acceptance of the building and the permission to operate the facility. The works carried out included the complete reconstruction and adjustment of the building for the MUS didactic needs. The university received 1027 m² of floor space containing modern technical infrastructure, including 76.1 m² of net laboratory.
According to the approved schedule of work, new models of fishing gear will be developed and made in the second stage of the project. Procedures for the purchase of training equipment for the modern net laboratory and the creation of a model bridge of a fishing vessel – equipped in accordance to the latest requirements of international conventions, with the facility for virtual navigation and the monitoring of sea fishing, have already been implemented. The next stage will include setting up a central control room of the fishing vessel engine room.
