International scientific conference "Transport Systems Telematics - TST'14" was held between 22-25 October 2014.
The conference is organised on regular basis by the Faculty of Transport at the Silesian University of Technology, Polish Association of Transport Telematics and Transport Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Its main aim is to promote modern solutions from telematics, information systems and transport management systems.
The conference started on 22nd October in the Museum of Polish Aviation in Cracow, whereas its second part took place in Ustronie.
There were four sessions focused on different themes: road, railway, sea and air. The subject area of the conference revolved around such issues as: intelligent transport systems, safety and management systems in transport, telematics in logistics, telematics in crisis management and rescue, equipment applied in vehicles and for transmission purposes, transport economy and policy and many others.
The marine session comprised mainly the presentations given by academics from the Navigation Faculty of the Maritime University of Szczecin: Zbigniew Pietrzykowski, PhD, associate professor, Piotr Borkowski, PhD, Mariusz Dramski, PhD, Witold Kazmierski, PhD, Izabela Bodus-Olkowska, MSc and Anna Wójcik, MSc.
Papers presented by them related to:
- network model of route optimisation
- exchange of navigational data between users of VTS and RIS systems
- adaptive system for course stabilisation
- concept of hierarchical fusion of hydrographic data for the production of PortENC maps
- inference scheme during initial identification of navigational situation in sea transport.
The topic of sea transport was also expanded on in a presentation by Adam Weintrit, PhD, associate professor at the Maritime University of Gdynia (marine session), and in poster presentations by Jacek Januszewski, PhD, associate professor at the Maritime University of Gdynia, Ryszard Wawrucha, PhD and Jolanta Joszczuk-Januszewska, PhD.
The accepted papers were published:
- by the publishing house Springer CCIS,
- in a scientific magazine "Archives of Transport System Telematics" (ISSN),
- in the conference proceedings - as abstracts (ISBN).
