Unia Europejska

On October 1 the Maritime University launched the 50th project funded by the European Union over the last 10 years. The total value of the projects amounted to about 100 million PLN!

Today the University performs 20 EU projects (so far 30 have been completed). Thanks to the funds raised within these projects modern laboratories have been created. Also simulators, which are the envy of other maritime universities in Europe, have been purchased. There have been implemented a number of research projects in collaboration with partners from dozens of European countries. New courses of study have been created, 1000 PLN scholarships for about 300 students have been funded. There have been carried out a few hundred trainings on various topics, both for students and teachers, as well as for people outside the academic community. These are just some of the activities financed by the University due to the EU funds. It’s fair to say that thanks to these funds Maritime University has become one of the most modern universities in Poland.

The magic barrier of 100 million PLN has been exceeded by getting 1.8 million PLN for the project MARINE POWER in the Human Capital Operational Programme. With the implementation of this project, educators such as the staff of the Faculty of Marine Engineering will benefit due to the offered specialist trainings abroad, and one or two-month internships in leading scientific research centers, anywhere in the world. Additionally, there will be arranged two multimedia rooms for remote teaching and e-learning will be run in 16 subjects of the course of Mechatronics.

However, that’s not all because the Marine Technology Transfer Center, supervising the preparation of the EU projects at the University, in November will begin to implement a new project called BUSINESS Columbus. As a part of this project, extramural students and graduates of MUS will be able to apply for nearly 50 thousand PLN support for setting up and running their own businesses
