The Polish Wind Energy Association
The Polish Wind Energy Association (PWEA) is a partner of the MEWy Competition. PWEA is a non-governmental organisation actively working to develop the legal framework in Polish legislation that will foster the development of wind energy. The Association currently brings together over 100 leading companies operating on the wind energy market in Poland: investors, developers, turbine and component manufacturers, subcontractors, service providers, law firms.
RWE Offshore Wind Poland
RWE has supported the organizers of the MEWy Competition since the very beginning of the initiative. Through its project company RWE Offshore Wind Poland, it is currently developing the 350 MW F.E.W. Baltic II offshore wind farm project, which will provide green electricity to 350,000 Polish households. The project is located northwest of Slupsk Shoal in the central part of the Polish area of the Baltic Sea in an approximately 41-square-kilometre zone in waters 30-50 meters deep and about 55 kilometres from the shore. The F.E.W. Baltic II offshore wind farm is a significant opportunity for Poland's economic development with the potential benefits of supply chain expansion and associated direct and indirect jobs and contracts.
Orlen Neptun
ORLEN Neptun I is a part of ORLEN Group responsible for offshore wind power development. The Company bids for 11 new licences to develop offshore wind farms in the Baltic Sea which will be a zero-carbon energy source for Poland with a target power of 10 GW. This would provide 25% of Poland’s electricity needs.
