In connection with the coronavirus epidemic in Poland, the Ministry of Health has introduced new safety rules, mainly concerning movement restrictions.
What does this mean?
Until April 10, it will not be possible to move freely except for extremely essential reasons connected with life, health and work. This restriction does not apply to: commuting to work, volunteering, dealing with matters necessary for everyday life (e.g. visiting a doctor, shopping, buying medicines);
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Only groups of up to two people are allowed outdoors (this restriction does not apply to families).
Can you still ride buses and trams?
Yes, public transport still works. However, on the bus or tram only half of the seats can be occupied.
What other restrictions apply to us when we go outside?
The new regulations also prohibit all gatherings, meetings or events.
Movement restrictions allow citizens to participate in events of a religious nature, but a mass or other religious ritual may not be attended by more than 5 people at the same time - excluding those who officiate the mass or ritual.
Are the existing restrictions still in force?
Apart from the introduced changes, all the existing bans remain in force, i.e. restrictions on shopping centres, restaurants and entertainment activities.
The mandatory 14-day quarantine for those returning from abroad is also still in force.
Grocery stores, pharmacies, banks, laundries and drugstores will continue to open, and restaurants will only serve takeaway meals.
For more details, please see the Health Ministry Regulation (available in Polish language only).
