Celebrations of the World Maritime Days in the period 13-15 June in Szczecin were an opportunity for presentation of the potential of the Faculty of Navigation and the university. The Secretary General of IMO, Mr Kitack Lim from South Korea accompanied by the host of the World Maritime Days, Minister Marek Gróbarczyk, was received, on 13.06, by the authorities of the Maritime University of Szczecin in the Marine Traffic Engineering Centre and the European LNG Training Centre.
On 15.06, our employee, Piotr Wołejsza, PhD. Eng. Master Mariner, led the panel session on the subject of the future of maritime labour market and presented the Navigation Decision Supporting System – NAVDEC, which was developed by the team of Professor Zbigniew Pietrzykowski, and is currently being commercialised by Sup4Nav, a spin-off of MUS. The Dean of the Faculty of Navigation, Paweł Zalewski, DSc. Eng., Chief Officer, took part in the panel discussion concerning "big data and digital security in navigation".

For three days, participants of the accompanying event - the maritime festival - were able to see hydrographic equipment, a life raft, the ECDIS system simulator and 3D prints presented by students and employees of the Faculty of Navigation in the Maritime Educational Centre located in a spherical tent in Łasztownia. There were also lots of volunteers willing to try their best on rowing machines.
The 6th Maritime Congress began on the last day of the World Maritime Days. The participants of the congress representing the Faculty of Navigation included: Janusz Uriasz, DSc. Eng. (expert in panel II - maritime education) and Zbigniew Szozda, PhD. Eng. - Vice Dean for Full-time Studies.
