The Maritime University of Szczecin hosted the scientific and technical conference “Intelligent Waterways: Innovation and Competitiveness,”
The conference was organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Infrastructure, the Inland Navigation Office in Szczecin, and partners from academia and industry.
The event brought together representatives of administration, academia, and industry, including a presentation by PhD Marek Grudziński.The event provided a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience among representatives of public administration, universities, and the business sector. Discussions focused, among other topics, on the modernization of the Oder Waterway and the implementation of modern technologies in water management.
One of the speakers was Dr Eng. Marek Grudziński from the Faculty of Mechatronics and Electrical Engineering, who delivered a lecture entitled “Modern UAV Platforms for Water Area Monitoring – Technology Overview, Operational Challenges and Development Directions.” In his presentation, he discussed the use of various types of autonomous robots (drones) in monitoring water bodies, new areas of their application, and emerging technologies in this field.
The conference was an important event for the maritime and transport sectors, highlighting the university’s role in developing innovative solutions for inland navigation and water management.
